Boy Doodling

EARLY 2'S (18-24 MO.)

8:30 - 12:30

The Early 2s class (18-24months) is designed for children who have reached the age of 18 months by June 30th of the current school year.  The Early 2s class meets two days a week.

This class is designed to be an introduction to the pre-school experience.  Many times, children in this age group will be separating from Mom and Dad, as well as interacting with other children (outside of the family) for the first time. This learning time is a time when trust is built between child and teacher.  Our teachers work hard to help you and your child during this stage.  In the first two weeks of school, we graduate your child into the four-hour day (we will start with a three-hour day and graduate to a four-hour day).

Our main goals for this class are helping your children overcome separation anxiety, teaching them basic socialization skills such as sharing, taking turns, emotional intelligence, etc., and helping them develop an interest in art, crafts, and music.  The classroom is designed for your child’s enjoyment and early learning.  In addition, children enjoy free play, inside and outside recreation, and a weekly music and dance class.

2 1/2 YR. OLDS

8:30 - 12:30

The 2 1/2 year old class has two class options: a two day a week class and a three day a week class. These classes are designed to help children develop age appropriate social skills, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, and emotional intelligence. We encourage age appropriate independence under the supervision of caring teachers. Potty training is usually a part of this year for preschoolers.

Students in this class must be 2 1/2 by June 30th of the current school year.

We offer each child opportunities to participate in activities such as circle time, painting, cooking, puzzles, books, free play, dance, music, and outside recreation. Music and Dance is a weekly class designed for each age level of learning at Early Arts.

PRE-K (4 1/2 YR. OLDS)

8:30 - 12:30

The Pre-K class meets five days a week.   The 4½ year old class is designed to prepare your child for kindergarten.  Readiness skills in language, reading, math, and science are learned while the children have fun.  Children are encouraged to be independent.  Play continues to be a tool for learning social skills, self-control, and conflict-resolution skills.  Children who are given time to mature in these skill sets learn to be confident in themselves, and develop a positive attitude toward learning.  Students in this class should be 4 1/2 by June 30th. Our hope is to set the stage for a lifetime of successful education.

Music, cooking, inside/outside recreation, games, puzzles, arts, crafts, art appreciation, and books are used extensively with this age group.  This class attends a weekly music and dance class and a monthly art class.

3 1/2 YR. OLDS

8:30 - 12:30

The 3 1/2 year old class has two class options. One class option is a three day a week class and the other class option is a four day a week class option. This class is designed to continue the development of social skills. Children at this age begin to experience the dynamics of participation in group activities as well as beginning conflict-resolution skills, critical thinking skills and age appropriate independence. We continue to help children develop emotional intelligence and to continue to learn to follow simple directions. Students in this class must be 3 1/2 by June 30th of the current school year.

We encourage each child to participate in group activities such as circle time, cooking, arts, crafts, music, amd dance. Children have opportunities for gross and fine motor skill development through free play, guided learning, painting, puzzles, enjoying books, and inside/outside recreation. Music and Dance is a weekly class designed for each age level of learning at Early Arts.

PRE-K 5 (5 YR. OLDS)

8:30 - 1:30

The Pre-K 5 class is a five day-a-week class designed to give children opportunity to further enhance skills needed to make him/her successful in Kindergarten.  Pre-K 5 is a five-hour a day class.  This class allows parents an opportunity to choose between the preschool experience and kindergarten.  The Pre-K 5 class offers more academic challenges by increased readiness skill development in language, reading, math, science, social skills, conflict-resolution skills, development, and self-management development.  It furthers the learning experiences of preschool without compromising the learning of kindergarten.  It is not a repeat of any earlier class.  It is designed to boost a child's self-confidence while continually offering the unique experiences of Early Arts.   Pre-K 5 participates in the music, dance, and arts program.  Early Arts develops learning that support STEM learning for this age group.
